Listening 渡渡鳥(niǎo)是一種不會(huì)飛的鳥(niǎo), 僅產(chǎn)于非洲的島國(guó)毛里求斯。肥大的體型總是使它步履蹣跚, 再加上一張大大的嘴巴, 使它的樣子顯得有些丑陋。幸好島上沒(méi)有它們的天敵, 因此, 它們安逸地在樹(shù)林中建窩孵卵, 繁殖后代。16世紀(jì)后期,帶著來(lái)復(fù)槍和獵犬的歐洲人來(lái)到了毛里求斯。不會(huì)飛又跑不快的渡渡鳥(niǎo)厄運(yùn)降臨了。歐洲人來(lái)到島上后, 渡渡鳥(niǎo)就成了他們主要的食物來(lái)源。從這以后, 槍打狗咬, 鳥(niǎo)飛蛋打, 大量的渡渡鳥(niǎo)被捕殺。就連幼鳥(niǎo)和蛋也不能幸免。開(kāi)

7、始時(shí),歐洲人每天可以捕殺到幾千只到上萬(wàn)只渡渡鳥(niǎo),可是由于過(guò)度的捕殺, 很快他們每天捕殺的數(shù)量越來(lái)越少, 有時(shí)每天只能打到幾只了。1681年, 最后一只渡渡鳥(niǎo)被殘忍的殺害了, 從此,地球上再也見(jiàn)不到渡渡鳥(niǎo)了, 除非是在博物館的標(biāo)本室和畫(huà)家的圖畫(huà)中。1.
