閱讀理解 A (2020屆云南省師大附中高三月考) There is more mobile apps than just social media. Here are four current favorites for teenagers. MyHomework It seems that there is never an end to schoolwork. Keeping track of what you have to do and making sure it's done when the teacher wants it require good planning. So this app allows you to track classes, tests and homework. It's free. But if you pay a small extra charge, you can get access to the official website and receive homework reminders. This app has been around since 2009 and has been constantly updated ever since. TaoMix2 This is a perfect app of light music, also known as white noise music. TaoMix2, launched in 2016, provides various natural sounds to wipe off your worries, including birdsong, light rain, mild wind and other comforting sounds. Thankfully, you can deepen your state of calm while enjoying the light music. FaceApp Currently very popular in the U.S., FaceApp, released in 2017, is a highly entertaining app that changes your face in strange and funny ways. It can take a photo of your face and age it, or make it younger, force it to smile, or make faces. It can even change your sex. Isn't it funny? With a score of 4.7 on Apple's App Store, FaceApp is the top hit in many countries. Monument Valley It's been available since 2014 and is as popular now as it first appeared. Monument Valley is a game, but it has more to offer. Its millions of fans say it's more like a beautiful artistic experience in sight and sound than simply a test of the player's abilities. Your job is to guide Princess Ida to her destination. To do that you must lead her through unusual buildings and enchanted (被施了魔法的) forests. It's not free, but the quality of the game makes it well worth the money. Monument Valley。 1.Which of the following apps appeals to music fans most? C.FaceApp. D.Monument Valley. 根據(jù)TaoMix2部分的第一句“This is a perfect app of light music, also known as white noise music.”和最后一句“Thankfully, you can deepen your state of calm while enjoying the light music.” 2.When was Monument Valley released? A.In 2009. B.In 2014. C.In 2016. D.In 2017. 根據(jù)Monument Valley部分的第一句“It's been available since 2014 and is as popular now as it first appeared.” 3.What can we know about these apps? A.MyHomework can provide free homework reminders. B.TaoMix2 can offer all kinds of music. C.FaceApp is mainly for entertainment. D.Monument Valley is free. 根據(jù)FaceApp部分的第一句中的“FaceApp, released in 2017, is a highly entertaining app that changes your face in strange and funny ways”可知,F(xiàn)aceApp這個應(yīng)用程序主要是為了娛樂。 Over the past decade or so, the technology industry has transformed many things we used to buy as physical products into digital services. Could cars be the next part of everyday life to be transformed from a physical product into an on-demand service? One study in the US, for example, forecasts that private car ownership will fall by as much as 80% by 2030 and that using electric ride-shares will be four to 10 times cheaper than buying a new car by 2021. The researchers foresee a world where communal, self-driving electric cars owned by cities or ride-sharing companies offer a safe, efficient and flexible personal transportation system. At the very beginning of this revolution, ride-calling services like Uber and Taxify are already potentially cheaper for some people than owning a car. Car-sharing services like Zipcar—which enables you to subscribe by the month and then hire a car by the hour—have also started to pop up around the world. What's more, autonomous vehicles should be safer since their software will not make mistakes, drive recklessly or get behind the wheel after too much alcohol. As great as that all sounds, shared, driverless vehicles are most likely to go further in the future than the more optimistic forecasts suggest. While technology is advancing fast, it may take longer to change human behaviour. For people in the middle classes, a car is more than a way to get from point A to point B. It is also a status symbol, a fashion statement and a way of personal freedom. This is why car ownership remains stubbornly high even in European and Asian cities with cheap, reliable public transport and bans on, or congestion charges for, private cars in their centres. The transition (過渡) will be even slower in a country like South Africa. The taxi industry, unions and the government will resist the job losses; autonomous vehicles are probably also not ready to navigate the unpredictable drivers of Jozi's mean streets. 4.What can we infer about car-sharing services from Paragraph 2? A.It will cost more to use. B.It will be well received. C.It will replace private cars quickly. D.It will be no better than owning a car. 根據(jù)第二段中的“...private car ownership will fall by as much as 80% by 2030 and that using electric ride-shares will be four to 10 times cheaper than buying a new car by 2021.” B。 5.Why are autonomous vehicles considered safer? A.They are updated constantly. B.They are driven without wheels. C.They are monitored in real time. D.They are digitally controlled. 根據(jù)第三段最后一句“What's more, autonomous vehicles should be safer since their software will not make mistakes...” D。 6.What should be considered before autonomous cars are promoted in South Africa? A.Employment. B.Service. C.Charge. D.Ownership. 根據(jù)最后一段第二句“The transition (過渡) will be even slower in a country like South Africa. The taxi industry, unions and the government will resist the job losses...” A。 7.What's the writer's attitude to car-sharing services? A.Objective. B.Unconcerned. C.Reserved. D.Ambiguous. 故選A。 Ⅱ. Both large and small businesses often have a global reach. If you have foreign customers or lead tours internationally, cultural differences and communication problems can cause misunderstandings that harm your company's bottom line. 1 . An awareness of potential problems can help you communicate better and grow your business internationally. Appreciating Cultural Values Communication problems often come from basic differences in values between cultures. For example, Latin American and Asian cultures often communicate as much through facial expression and tone of voice as through words. On the other hand, English-speaking and Germanic cultures normally state the intended meaning explicitly. 2 . For example, in Japan and the UK people tend to avoid the outward show of feelings, while the United States, France and Italy accept a stronger show of emotions, even in business. Dressing for International Success 3 . For example, in Muslim countries, women must avoid sleeveless tops, short skirts and low necklines. In Japan, conservative business suits in dark colors are essential to make the best impression. When new to a culture, observe what others wear for business. Going Face to Face You can unknowingly cause offence when meeting foreign customers one-on-one. In Japan, you should bow rather than shake hands unless the other party offers a hand first. 4 . In Arab countries, you should accept the card with your right hand, while in China and Japan you should use both hands. Meeting Expectations Following local customs builds better relationships at business meetings. For example, in Japanese meetings, often only the most senior person for each side talks, while others typically remain silent. In China, business dinners often include many toasts, so pace your drinking accordingly. Remember to keep the respect of Asian contacts. 5 . A.Dressing styles can differ in different regions B.Some cultures have strict dress codes for business C.Try speaking slowly and clearly in these circumstances D.Avoid etiquette (禮儀) mistakes that cause you to lose face E.Another difference among cultures is the importance of emotion F.The exchange of business cards is a requirement in many cultures G.So familiarize yourself with the local laws and customs of any country you visit 【語篇解讀】 本文主要從幾個方面說明了不同國家的商業(yè)文化存在的差異。 1.解析:選G 根據(jù)上文的“...cultural differences and communication problems can cause misunderstandings that harm your company's bottom line.” 2.解析:選E 根據(jù)下文 “For example, in Japan and the UK people tend to avoid the outward show of feelings, while the United States, France and Italy accept a stronger show of emotions, even in business.” 3.解析:選B 根據(jù)下文“...in Muslim countries, women must avoid sleeveless tops, short skirts and low necklines. In Japan, conservative business suits...” 4.解析:選F 根據(jù)下文的“In Arab countries, you should accept the card with your right hand, while in China and Japan you should use both hands.”
