Before this
2、 class, the teacher have taught the students vocabulary and expressions. The reading passage titled The Steamboat briefly describes a story taken from Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Such a topic is exciting and interesting for students to read, thus it is very easy to arouse their interest in learn
3、ing this lesson. Teacher should encourage students to skim for the general idea, and scan for further understanding. After reading, students are required to do the exercises in the each step to see how much they have understood the reading passage. The teacher can let them work in pairs or in groups
4、 to find the answers cooperatively, and then check their answers with the whole class. The teacher should help the students to review some grammar knowledge. To consolidate the knowledge, students should be required to check them by finishing several tasks. Moreover, homework is very important for a
5、n effective class. So the students are assigned to finish several exercises, based on what they have learned in this lesson. Teaching Aims: 1. Enable the students to master reading skills such as skimming and summarizing ability. 2. Help the students to review useful knowledge of Grammar in this mod
