1、狀語從句在復(fù)合句中作狀語，位置靈活。狀語從句可分為時間狀語從句，目的狀語從句，條件狀語從句，讓步狀語從句，地點狀語從句，原因狀語 從句，方式狀語從句，結(jié)果狀語從句。(一) 時間狀語從句1. when, as, whilea. when表時間，從句既可以用延續(xù)性動詞，又可以用瞬間動詞。Eg: When I get there I will call you.如果when引導(dǎo)的時狀的主語與主句的主語相同，而從句的謂語又是be動詞時，那么從句中的主語與be可省。Eg： When (you are) in trouble, you can ask her for help.如果when引導(dǎo)的時狀的主語

2、與主句的主語相同時，往往可以用“ when+分詞”的形式代替該狀從。Eg: When I came into the room(When coming into the room), I found the light was off.b. while表時間，從句需用延續(xù)性動詞，或者主句的動作發(fā)生在從句的動作進(jìn)行過程中。主句的謂語動詞 通常是非延續(xù)性動詞。Eg: He came in while I was reading a book. I met her while I was in school.c. as表時間，與when相似，但側(cè)重強(qiáng)調(diào)主從句動作同在時間點或同時間段進(jìn)行。同時可表示主

3、句的動作 隨著從句的動作的變化而變化。Eg: He jumps as he sings.As the wind rose, the noise increased.2. before(在之前)與after (在之后)Eg: See me before you leave.I saw them after I arrived.3. till 與 until肯定形式表示的意思是“做某事直至某時"。否定形式表達(dá)的意思是"直至某時才做某事”。Eg: Wait till/untill I call you.等著直到我叫你。She didn't arrive till/unti

4、l 6 o'clock.她直到6點才到但是置于句首時只可用untill.Until you told me, I had heard nothing of what happened. 直到你告訴我以前，出了什么事我一點也不知道。 否定形式有另外兩種表達(dá)方式：(1)Not until在句首，主句用倒裝。Man did not know what heat was until the early years of the 19th century.=Not until the early years of the 19th century did man know what heat w

5、as.(2) It is not until thatHe will not go to bed until his mother comes home.=It is not until his mother comes home that he will go to bed.4. as soon as/the moment/the instant/the second/the minute/immediately 和 hardly/scarcely - when, no sooner thana. as soon as/the moment/the instant/the second/th

6、e minute/immediately 表示主句和從句的動作同時發(fā)生。譯為“一就”Eg: As soon as she heard the news, she began crying.b. hardly/scarcelywhen, no soonerthan都可以表示"一就"的意思，但主句謂語動詞一般要用過去完成時，從句謂語動詞要用一般過去時。Eg: I had hardly / scarcely got home when it began to rain.I had no sooner got home than it began to rain. 注意：如果 ha

7、rdly, scarcely 或 no sooner 置于句首， 句子必 須用倒裝結(jié)構(gòu)：Hardly / Scarcely had I got home when itbegan to rain.No sooner had I got home than it began to rain。1. (so) that/in order that(so) that/in order that表示“為了，以便”，引導(dǎo)的目的狀語從句要用虛擬語氣。Eg: He shouted at the top of his voice so that/in order that he might be heard.如果表示“為了，以便”的目的狀語從句的主語與主句的主語相同，可用in orderto或so as to替代。Eg: I came early

10、 so as to/in order to catch the first train.3. lest, for fear that, in caselest, for fear that, in case 表示“以免，以防“。其中 lest, for fear that 要用(should)+動詞原形的虛擬語氣；in case 后的從句可用虛擬語氣，也可用陳述語氣。Eg: I will not make a noise lest/ for fear that I (should) disturb you.Take your umbrella in case it rains.Ex.1.
