3、 remember the previous year.The start of New Years Day is heralded by fireworks,parties and special events。It is a day of recovery from the New Years Eve celebrations the previous night.A common symbol of New Years Day is Baby New Year.Many people make New Years resolutions.Martin Luther King DayIt

4、is a federal holiday held on the third Monday of January.It celebrates the life and achievements of Martin Luther King Jr.,an influential American civil rights leader.In recent years,federal legislation has encouraged Americans to give some of their time on this day as volunteers in citizen action g

7、,picnics,concerts,baseball games,family reunions,and political speeches and ceremonies.It is the National Day of the United States.Thanksgiving Day The Thanksgiving Day is an important public holiday,celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November in the United States.The Thanksgiving feast became a n

8、ational tradition.Thanksgiving dinner almost always includes some of the foods served at the first feast:roast turkey,cranberry sauce,potatoes,pumpkin pie.Before the meal begins,families or friends usually pause to give thanks for their blessings,including the joy of being united for the occasion.Ha
